Photograph of Sale Agreement and Plan of property in the parish of Abbeydore sold to the Golden Valley Railway Company by Thomas Freke-Lewis, Esq. in 1877 for the construction of the first part of the line from Pontrilas to Dorstone.

 

 

Observations:

Thomas Freke-Lewis was one of the founding shareholders and advocates of the Golden Valley Railway.

This is part of a wider collection of documents pertaining to a legal dispute in 1880 between the Golden Valley Railway Company and Miss Elizabeth Pugh concerning diversion of the river Dore during construction of the railway.
