Description:

Prisoners of War assigned to hostels like the Dorstone Camp or billeted at farms had considerable freedom to move around as security was relaxed after the end of formal hostilities in 1945. They were however obliged to carry identification documents at all times, which had to be registered and renewed regularly under the terms of the Aliens Order, 1920. The photographs below are of the papers issued to Dietrich Voss.
