Image of newspaper cutting dated 28 October 1876 reporting a meeting of the Directors of the Golden Valley Railway Company to receive a deputation advocating extension of the proposed railway to Hay. It was resolved to extend the line, independently of the Hereford and Brecon line [which already had a station at Hay], to Caemawr in the parish of Hay, on condition that the deputation raised a guarantee of £10,000 and a second guarantee that when a parliamentary bill approving the extension was obtained subscriptions equal to those of the Golden Valley Railway Company would be raised from other interested parties.
