Description:
Indenture of mortgage of Clodock Mill and lands in the township of Longtown in the parish of Clodock, County of Hereford, dated 8th May 1890 between William Davies of Pontys Mill in the township of Longtown, miller, and Thomas Davies of [?] Mill, Llyswen, miller, specifying that £500 has been lent and paid by Thomas Davies to William Davies and secured as a mortgage on Clodock Mill and Lands at interest of 4% per annum. Reference is made to an earlier indenture dated 7th May 1890 conveying the property from Henry Miles to William Davies. The indenture specifies inter alia that William Davies will forthwith insure the property against loss or damage by fire in the name of Thomas Davies in the Law Fire Insurance Office in the sum of £250 and will continue to keep such insurance and pay the premiums.
The property is described as all that messuage or dwelling house with the stable, water mill and premises called Clodock Mill otherwise Lower Mill and all those parcels of land thereto adjoining containing four acres two roods and thirty perches (more or less) situated in the township of Longtown in the parish of Clodock and numbered 822 and 823 on the Tithe Map.
