Beneficiaries: To wife, Anne, The Turnent, for as many years plus one year as it takes for son James to reach 21. Whereupon James gets the place. In the meantime wife, Anne is enjoined to maintain the boy with 'sufficient meat, drink, washing and lodging'.
To Cousin, John Edwards of Longtown and brother in law, William Gwillim of Rowlstone, the messuage, tenement and lands called Coed Robin in Michaelchurch Escley, in trust so that son James shall receive the rents and profits during his minority. Once he reaches 21 then the property to pass to wife Anne for her maintenance during her lifetime. On her death it reverts to the two trustees until James pays £200 to his sisters, Catherine and Anne and their offspring, if any, for equal division, when they attain the age of 19.
To James, one long table, one press, one coffer, one bestead, one chest, in the parlour, one bedstead in the chamber, one chest formerly his mothers, two feather beds, two bolsters one with feathers and one without, one brass kettle one posnet and two cows.
'To the poor of Gwar-y-Cae in the Longtown and Llanveynoe, 20/- to be distributed at the discretion of my wife'.
The residue of personal goods, and chattels to wife, Anne.

Observations:

Quite a complex will. It seems that Anne was a second wife and not the mother of James hence no doubt the injunction to feed, wash and lodge him. A separate coversheet; 6 sheets in all.
