1.   Will: dated 15 July 1576 .
Requests to be buried in the Clodock parish church
Beneficiaries;
To the repair of The cathedral of St Davids, 2d and for forgotten tithes, 6d.
To wife, Johan Richard, all land, both free and customary and all household stuff, goods and cattle for her use during her widowhood. If she 'do match herself in marriage or other wise', she is to retain only one half of this inheritance for her lifetime. Afterwards it is to pass to the two children John Hoell, son and Katherine daughter.
The testator has in trust £23 for his neice, Margaret Hoell David and requires his executors to ensure that this sum is invested to 'the uttermost interest and advantage' for the girl until the time of her marriage.
Also the executors are required to pursue and   enforce a signed and sealed agreement, held by the testator, with John Barry assigning lands he has in Monmouthshire to the testator's sister, Maud vch William.
The executors are to pursue and cause John Barry to enseal a bond Sussment of £100, for the assurances of the land lately purchased by John Barry from Thomas ap Richard Grother, which John Barry is passing 'to my sister's son, Hoell ap Hoell  according to the order and award of Watkin Lluis and William John Phe'.
 
Executor: 'my welbeloved in Christ', Johan verch Richard my wedded wife and Harry David ap Madocke with Simond Hugh and Griffith  Willim, overseers

Observations:

Some tricky legalities in this will. It is not known what a bond Sussment is although the meaning is understandable. The phrase 'well beloved in Christ also appears in mfs_clo_2056. Were these persons members of a puritan or non-conformist sect?.
