To daughter, Jaine vergh Thomas, all corn, grain and hay also 2 young calves, a mare, a brass pan, brass pot, brass skillet, a brass cauldron, 8 pewter dishes, a cupboard, a bedstead standing in the upper chamber, one great tub, a barrel, a stand, a coffer, 2 coverlets and a bolster.
To son in law William Thomas Powell, a feather bed, stand and tub.
To Thomas John Harry D[avi]d, one bedstead standing in the lower chamber.
To son in law, George Griffith, one tableboard standing in the Hall and one form.
To daughter Jaine vergh Thomas, 'all other implements of household stuff'. Also £8 10s due from John Thomas, eldest son, for rent of certain lands he holds by lease in writing [the meaning then becomes difficult to discern, but it seems to imply that the sum due, the £8 10s, is more than the rent because there are arrears of rent.]
To Johan vergh Watkin James, 3 geese.
To Sibill vergh Watkin James, one sow or shootling.

Executrix: daughter, Jaine vergh Thomas.

2. Inventory: nd; value £47 12 8d. Assessors Lewis Harry Richard, and Harry Phillipp.

 

 

Observations:

The documents include a bond dated 3 December 1625 with bounden Jane vergh Thomas spinster of Clodock and Watkin James of the same, yeoman in a surety of £100.
The inventory which is most beautifully written with almost modern spelling is reproduced below:
