1. Will: dated 13 July 1572
Testator requests to be buried in the parish
church of Clodock .
Beneficiaries:
To the 'reparacon' of the cathedral
church of St Davids , 4d.
To Maud verch Morgan, sister, 3 kine and a two year old heifer.
To brother, Lewis Morgan, £4 in money due by certain bills and obligations and a red mare.
To his parents, 20/- in money and 23 sheep.
To Gwenllian verch Morgan, sister, a cow and a calf.
To Thomas ap Morgan brother, 20/- in money and his black horse. The remainder of his estate he leaves to brother Thomas as executor to dispose of as 'he shall think fit for the repose of my soul'

Executor: brother, Thomas ap Morgan.

No indication of mark or signature by the testator

Witnesses:John David John, Watkin Thomas ap [?], David ap Gwatkin, Morgan Watkin and David ap Morgan cleark..

2. Inventory: dated
17 August 1572 and no value given but comes to £8  11 5d. Appraisers: John David ap John and Morgan Watkin, two of the neighbours.    .

 

 

Observations:

This was obviously a young man with parents still actively farming.
