Beneficiaries: To brother-in law, Henry Harris, gentleman of Longtown, '…all that messuage or tenement and garden wherein I now dwell situate at Clodock church
… to hold in trust.' For the use of wife Elizabeth and for her to receive the rents etc for her lifetime once mother, Blanch Gilbert, has died.
Also to Henry Harris in trust for wife Elizabeth the corn grist mill in Longtown where currently, mother, Blanch and her under tenant are dwelling, to provide for the upbringing and education of the children William, Elizabeth and George.
To Wife Elizabeth, an annuity of £5 payable from the estate while she remains a widow, also all household goods and crops of grain in the testator's possession at his death.
To son, William, on attaining the age of 21, the mill etc plus all livestock and implements, provided Blanch is dead, subject to the payment of the following legacies:

To daughter, Elizabeth and son, George, £200 each. These legacies to be paid 12 months after William inherits. Should either die but leave legitimate issue then their money is divided amongst their heirs. If they die without heirs then the money passes to the survivor.
If wife, Elizabeth re-marries then trustee is instructed to cut her out completely and all money due to her to go to the maintenance of William.
Henry Harris is appointed guardian and trustee.

Observations:

A quite complex will. A separate registration instruction and 2 coversheets; 6 pages in all. One of the coversheets is written on the back of the first page of a prayer for the safety of the Prince Regent.
