HerefordshierTo the shirriff of the said county etc.

 

WhereasJohn Delahay esquire lord of the manor of Urishay Clothye Hopkin and TrileisHope alias Trenant lately deceased did give devise and bequeath the said manorwith their appurtenances unto his couzen Thomas Delahay of Welbrooke gentlemanfirst and nearest relation to continue the name of Delahay. This is thereforeto certifie you that the said Thomas Delahay have caused a court of view offranck pledge and enquiry to be made within the said mannor concernnge the dueobservaccion of the king’s peace and other things relatinge to the said courtein manner as heretofore tyme out of minde the same hath been kept And that itwas held the nineteenth day of this instant April Anno domini 1726 at the placewhere the same is usually kept within the mannor of Clothye Hopkin where thetenants appeared a jurry sworn and the charge given.

Item:   Wee the said jurors doe present the death ofElinor the wife of James Gilbert and that there was a heriot due to the lord ofthis manor unless a just cause can be shewd to the contrary.

 

Item:   Wee the said jurors doe present ThomasPrichard and John Price for not keeping sufficient gates and fences upon thelane leading from Oatley to the Urishay Common & also to Thomas Smyths.

 

Item:    Unless it [so put] in right order between thisand the [?following       ] if not: wee the said jurors doe amerce themin: 6s -8d .

 

Lastly:Wee have nothing more to present at this time.
