Description:

Indenture dated 21st March 1796 between Isabela Miles of Crasswall widow and Thomas Miles of the same place Gent only son and heir at law of Isabela, of the one part and Jane Jenkins of Crasswall spinster of the other part.

 

By a Lease dated fourth August 1766 between Right Honourable George Lord Abergavenny of the one part and Isabela Miles of the other part, Abergavenny demised a decayed cottage wherein Ann Powell widow {since deceased} did then inhabit together with eleven acres and then in the possession of John Griffith afterwards of Thomas Parry since John Thomas afterwards Howell Powell as tenants thereof to the said Isabela Miles and now in her possession.

 

The premises are in Forest Hene in Crasswall abutting to the lands late of Henry Prosser to the West to the lands formerly granted to Lyson Price to the South and South East to the lane leading towards [?]Rogars’s Mill on the North and the lands then lately granted to Walter Powell on the West.

 

To hold for the lives of Thomas Miles then aged about thirteen Theophilus Gilbert then aged about eight son of Benedict Gilbert and Jane Powell then aged about eleven daughter of Walter Powell late of Crasswall labourer deceased.

 

Rent five shillings and eight pence.

 

Isabela has agreed to sell the property to Jane Jenkins for seventy eight pounds and eight shillings for a term of 99 years subject to the same lives at a peppercorn rent.

Sealed by Thomas Miles in presence of John Miles and Jn’e Jenkins.

Full payment witnessed by Sam. Jones and George Brentnall and by the mark of Isabela Miles.
