Description:

Account of John Evans of the Road, Craswall on the death of Mary Jones on 25th October 1866, on property derived from George Jones the Predecessor, in his will.

 

An undivided moiety of a leasehold tenement and lands held for three lives under a lease dated 1797 from the Earl of Abergavenny. Only remaining life is mother Mary Jones. Consequently no duty is payable by John Evans.

 

An undivided moiety of a leasehold tenement and lands in Craswall held for three lives under a lease dated 25th March 1819 from the Earl of Abergavenny which lives at the date of the death of Mary Jones being 25th October 1866 were aged 61,59 and 54.

Gross annual value of moiety £4 less moiety of Chief Rent 3s 2d and repairs 4s. Net annual value £3 12 10d. Duty at 3% 19s 6d paid 27th October 1868.

 

A true account of the Duty on property of John Evans on the death of Mary Jones; John Evans born Feb 1830 and is a descendent of a sister of George Jones.
