Description:

22 February 1345. Grant to Bartholomew de Bergherssh of the custody of the lands of the prior of Cressewell [Craswall], an alien, as well in the county of Herefordshire as in the march of Wales, to hold for such time as the lands of the priory, whereof Bartholomew is patron, remain in the king’s hands on account of the war with France, without rendering anything therefor, provided that he find reasonable sustenance for the prior and monks and support the charges incumbent on the house; saving to the king the knight’s fees and advowson of the churches pertaining to the priory.
