Beneficiaries: To his son Thomas Mabbe, his messuage and leasehold lands called 'The Abbey Lands' wherein his son dwells (except those parcels of meadow and pasture called Croft yr Eyshyn Gworlod y Bint the Werar) on condition his son pays and discharges the rents and duties to Mr Smyth and his heirs and pays yearly to Elinor, the testator's wife, £3; and after her death, 40/- p.a. to the testator's daughter Mary wife of Thomas David and 20/- p.a. to the testator's brother John Mabbe.
As to the excepted Abbey lands called Croft yr Eyshyn Gworlod y Bint the Werar, they are to be for the use of his wife Elinor. On her death they are to go to his daughter Alice, wife of Henry William, for her separate maintenance and free of the rents and duties of the lease; Thomas Mabbe discharging the same. Thomas to have one yearling heifer.
To his son [the testator's], John £5 and a yearling beast and £5 more to be distributed among his children.
'to the five children of my daughter Alice', 40/- each
To daughter, Mary, wife of Thomas David, £6, to be divided among her children.
To his wife, Elinor, £40, 6 cows[?] and all the rest of his gods and chattels.

Observations:

There was obviously some difficulty over this will as there are a number of administrative documents accompanying it, giving statements from witnesses to the will and includes a commission from the Court to 3 clerks, David Phillipps, Hugh Pugh and Thomas Allen who may have been clergymen of the district. See also the documents for Thomas Mabe, [BR/1730/24] son of the testator. described as a cordwainer, another term for corvisor . 8 documents in all.
