Beneficiaries: To his 'two beloved' daughters Caroline Lewis and Catherine Lessimore, jointly, his 2 farms , messuages and lands called Fern Furrow and The Old Shop, in the parish of St Margarets. They are to hold them as their private property, independent of their present or any future husband 'and my wife to have no power over those places …neither my daughters to have any power over my wife in the management of my other affairs.' The daughters also to have £20 each.
On his wife's death he leaves his nephew, William Hughes, his husbandry, working and garden tools plus £20 on condition that ' he will watch over my Grandson George Meredith till he his 21 years of age' when his grandson is to have £10.
After his wife's death Wiliam Hughes is to have a bed and bedstead and his two daughters to have the rest of his household furniture, dairy and brewing utensils plus any money.
Residual legatee, his wife, Marianne.
