2. Inventory: [2 pages] dated
15 October 1793 , value £278 2 6d. Appraisers Thomas Baynham and Daniel Morgan

Observations:

The inventory indicates a higher standard of living than most as it includes a looking glass value 6d, 'two boukes and 4 half ditto' value 3/-and a silver watch worth £1. The money from the sale of stock on this obviously large farm would have gone a long way towards the maintenance of the three children. It is to be hoped the trustees were kind and trustworthy; 16 was an unusually early age for children to receive such an important legacy.
Also of interest in her inventory were 2 spinning wheels valued at 7/- and 3 stones of flax worth 13/-
A separate sheet lists Hannah Gilbert's debts, a total of £135 6 6d; including £81 16 0d owed to 'Mr John Jones her landlord'; 7 documents in all.
