Beneficiaries: To his executors, in trust, all his freehold estate called the Upper Cwm, to be sold by them within 2 years of his death. The executors are to pay all the just debts, funeral expenses and charges of proving the will. Also out of the proceeds he bequeaths the following:
To his granddaughters, Caroline and Catherine Hughes, £10 each.
To his grandson Richard Evans, £10.
All the residue arising from the sale, after the payment of the debts etc and the mortgage with all interest due and the costs of discharge from the mortgagee, is to go his children, sons, Richard and George and his daughters, Elizabeth, Ann and Susan together with his grandson James Watkins , all in equal shares.
To his son, Richard, his bed and frame etc.
To his daughter, Susan, all the rest of his household goods, dairy and brewing utensils.

Executors: his son, George and son in law, John Watkins, both of Craswall.

Signed by the testator.

Witnesses: John Gwillim senior of Sunny Bank, James Phillips, miller and Sarah Phillips spinster.

Observations:

No inventory. The coversheet states 'Sent probate by post directed "Mr John Watkins", Upper Cwm, Craswall. To be left at the Bell Inn, Hay. 3 documents in all.
