Description

1. Will dated 7 July 1840
All just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses and the cost of proving the will to be paid from her money.
Beneficiary:
To only daughter, Mary Farr, wife of John Farr of Middle Cwm, Llanveynoe, spinster, 'all the money I may die possessed of with all the money that may be due and owing to me', for her sole use and not subject to the control of her husband.
In addition, to Mary, all household goods and chattels and all wearing apparel.

Executrix: Daughter, Mary Farr.

Observations

As this is taken from a copy of the will deposited at the Prerogative Court of Canterbury there are no supporting documents.
Interesting to see the term "spinster" used as a description of an occupation rather than as of status.
