Title:

Rental of Ewyas Lacy

Place name:

Ewyas Lacy

Date:

1566

Description:

29 June 1566 (8 Eliz)
A detailed survey of the rental potential of the part of the Lordship of Ewyas Lacy granted to Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester by Queen Elizabeth
'renewed' before John Dudley and others acting under a commission dated 29 June 1566.

Observations:

The survey contains a general description of the area at the time and indicates that whilst the premises and land in the other half of the lordship held by Lord Abergavenny were in pretty good condition those of Leicester 's jurisdiction were very run down and dilapidated.
