Video Archive:  Exploring the River Dore

Place name:

Golden Valley

Date:

2022

Description:

Video Archive clip by Derrick Golland. The author’s description is as follows:

The River Dore is only a little over 12 miles long and falls just 150 metres. However, for millennia it has shaped the Golden Valley, its natural environment and the lives of the people who live there and have depended upon it. Starting life as a spring on the hillside near Arthur's Stone, high above Dorstone you can follow the river and its tributaries through Peterchurch, Poston Mill, Vowchurch, Bacton, Ewyas Harold and Pontrilas, finally joining the Monnow river. Enjoy the photographs or use them to plan a walk!
