Description:

Indenture of Assignment between John Powell of Llanveynoe yeoman and Sarah Powell spinster his only daughter and heiress, dated 26th June 1765.

 

The Indenture notes:

an Indenture of Lease between John Jeffreys of West Sheen, Surrey and John Lewis of Olghon [Olchon] yeoman dated 18th June 1755 whereby John Lewis took a lease for 99 years at a rent of 6d on a cottage and 3 Statute acres in the Fforrest of Olghon opposite a place called Bayly Bach and called David Prichards Lands. The lease was subject to the lives of Ann his daughter aged 3yrs and Mary his daughter aged 1yr.

 

an Indenture of Assignment dated 31st March 1757 whereby John Lewis assigned the residue of the lease to John Powell.

 

an Indenture of Lease between John Jeffreys and Henry Symonds dated 29th August 1705 whereby Henry Symonds took a lease for 99yrs at a rent of 8d on a property called Gworlod Coppa comprising 2 Winchester acres then in the possession of Henry Symonds. The lease was subject to the lives of Noah Symonds son aged 21yrs, James Symonds grandson aged 6yrs and Walter Watkins grandson aged 6yrs. On the death of Henry Symonds the property went to his son Noah and on his death to his son Delahay Symonds.

 

an Indenture of Assignment dated 15th June 1761 whereby Delahay Symonds assigned the residue of the lease to John Powell.

 

By this Indenture John Powell assigned the leases on the cottage called David Prichards Lands and the land called Gworlod Coppa to Sarah Powell for the sum of £15. Witnesses Isabela Miles and M Gilbert.
