1. Will
dated 1 September 1623.[First, large portion of the RHS of the page is damaged and missing, because of this the will has been transcribed as far as possible  and not pr??cised, but some of the transcription had to be speculation. Gaps are indicated by '.....' and suggestions as to missing words are in italics. 
Second, the page on which the will is written is headed 'Jesus'.]
Beneficiaries:
To the cathedral church of St Davids, 4d
'All my freehold mess.....tenemts to John Wiliam Watkin my wellbeloved ...brother in law and... .Mauld my now wyfe and their heirs and assigns for ever to have ...to hold ....all and singular the foresaid messuage or tenmnts and all other my freehold ....messuage or. ...tenemnts whatsoever with the appurtenances unto the said John William  ...his .....heirs and assigns for ever upon this condition  that then..................sale, and join together to sell the same to pay my debts wch I... owe... to divers persons in divers somes of money.
Item I give and bequeathe ..................... and sell [sett?] over all and singular my leasehold ...lands which I hold from.... Robert Hopton Esquire unto the said John....William Watkin and his ..... assignes  to have and to hold as well the said ..............the premises therein  menconed, During all the...............unto the said John William and Mauld my wyfe ..........and discharge all my debts and that they ma........
Item I give and bequeath all my goods cattells and chattells moveable and unmoveable unto the said Jophn William and Maud towards...payment of ...my said debts
Item finally my will and meaning and intent ...is that ... all my lands tenemts and hereditaments as well freehold as lease and ....all my goods... cattells and chattels which shallbe and remane over and above..... after the payment of my ....Debts  shallbe equallie divided between my five childen....after the ... sale of  the premises by the said John and Maud whom I do ...nominate and appoint... and joint executors jointly of this my last will and testament.

Witnesses: Charles John Thomas, Lewis John Thomas, Watkin Jenkin, Sybill Thomas Pryce, Mauld Myle, Challen [?] Myle, Rees Lewis and Mauld verch John.

2. Inventory:   no date; valued at £69  16  4d [ but comes to £69  8  2d]. Appraisers: Thomas Lluis Prys, Jenkin Harry, Thomas John Lluis, Watkin Lluis David, Charles John Thomas, John William, John Harry William Prys, Howell Prichard.

 

 

Observations:

All the documents are severely  damaged.
The heading on the will page 'Jesus' might indicate that the testator was a non-conformist. Sadly, the bond with these documents is too badly damaged to yield any information.
Documents include the coversheet, 4 sheets in all.
