Proposal submitted by Paul Stevens to build a stone bridge at Ponthendre "with the assistance of the old bridge" for £73 -5s-0d . The wording and date of this item leads one to believe that it is in fact a tender for the work rather than an official invitation to tender as the catalogue description might imply

Tender submitted by James Perry of Longtown to build the bridge according to plans shown him by the County Surveyor, Mr Heather, for £210 - 0 - 0d plus making up the approach road 100yds each side for £28-0-0d.

Two sided voucher. Side one From Mr Gething request for payment to Edward Merrick of £1-5s-7d in respect of repairs to approach road to Pontannes Bridge made

28 July. Reverse: receipt from Mr Hughes for the sum of £1-5s-7d to be passed to Edward Merrick dated 6 January 1826.
