1. Will dated 4 April 1715:
Beneficiaries: To Lewis Lewis, turner, of Longtown, all the leasehold property held under lease from John Jeffreys Esq., called Porth-Ddee for the unexpired term of the lease and all the copyhold premises and land held from the Earl of Abergavenny under for and during the term of lives in the Court Roll. Also all corn, grain and hay growing or harvested, all implements of husbandry and household goods.
To goddaughter, Sybill Powell, the brass pan, brass pot, kettle, and 4 pewter plates pawned by her mother, Susan Powell, widow, to me, less anything contained in these vessels.
To godson, Lewis Watkins, son of Lewis Watkins, 20/-.
To godson, James Watkine of Llanveynoe, weaver, 20/-.
To niece, Jane, wife of John Edwards of
Lower Mescoed , 40/-.
To niece, Elizabeth, daughter of Zachary Griffiths, £5.
To Zachary Griffiths, brother, 20/- and to his sons John, Jacob and Job 1/- a piece.
To James Prosser, cousin, blacksmith of Craswall, £5.
To Abraham Prosser and Phillip Prosser, cousins, 50/- each.
