Description

1. Will dated 17 February 1837
Beneficiaries:
To niece, Blanch Farr, daughter of 'my late sister Ann Farr' the cottage and garden now in the occupation of Widow Rogers.
To brothers William and James Jones, one feather bed, 2 blankets, 2 pr of sheets one bolster one quilt and a bedstead each.
To executor, £50 upon trust to be invested and to pay the interest to brother William for his lifetime and then the capital sum of £50 to be paid to brother James 'for his use'.
Also to James, £50 as a primary legacy.
To her late sister Blanch Phillips' children, £100 to be shared equally between them.
To executor John Farr, £50 'in compensation for the rouble he will have in carrying this my will into effect.'
All household furniture, bedding, linen, plate etc. to her four nieces, the four daughters of John Farr by my late sister; namely Ann, wife of James Parry, Mary and Blanch Farr and Sarah wife of David Jones, share and share alike.
'All the REST and RESIDUE of my real and personal estate subject to the payment of my debts and funeral expenses' To the four nieces and their brothers John and William Farr as tenants in common and not as joint tenants their respective heirs executors and administrators absolutely for ever.

Witnesses: George Addis, tenant of
S Davis , Elizabeth Farr, Clodock and John Gwillim of the Wain.

Date of Probate: 23 May 1837.

2. Inventory: none surviving.

 

 

Observations:

As this is taken from a copy of the will deposited at the Prerogative Court of Canterbury there are no supporting documents.
