Description:

Abstract of the Title of the Trustee under the will of the late William Webb to a messuage and hereditaments known as Twyn-y-gwint or Tyycha in the parish of Michael Church Escley in the County of Hereford.

Indenture September 16^th 1874

Reciting that the Rev’d Thomas Prosser of Dorstone in his will dated 31^st December 1841,  left his estate to the Rev’d Samuel Prosser and Henry Coyle Esq to the use of his wife Ann Prosser for life and then to their three daughters Mary Ann Prosser, Sarah Forrester Prosser and Marea Prosser.
Reciting that Ann Prosser died 15^th February 1843 and Thomas Prosser died March 1843.
The heirs sold to William Webb gent. for £800 the freehold of the property described as
“All that messuage or tenement and lands called Twyn-y-gwint otherwise Ty-ycha as the Upper House in the parish of St Michael Church Escley in the County of Hereford formerly in the occupation of William Williams and then in the occupation of Edward Meredith as tenant thereof and then or lately consisting of a messuage or dwellinghouse barn and buildings with a yard garden and about 35 acres of land … “

William Webb died 11^th January 1880 leaving his real estate to his wife Eleanor and brother Richard in trust to his wife and their children for her life and then for the maintenance and education of the children.

Eleanor Webb died 22^nd December 1898.

The map and areas attached to the Abstract are included below. Despite the use of an apparently alternative name of Ty-ycha, the map clearly relates to the property currently known as Tyn-y-gwynt.
