Bounden: Catherine Thomas of Michaechurch Eskley, widow , Eustance Williams and Walter Watkins both of Michaelchurch Eskley, and both bachelors in the sum of £50.
Appointing Catherine Thomas administrator of her husband's estate.

2. Inventory: dated
13 March 1670 , No total value recorded the inventory; there must be a page missing as the appraisers' names are not included although the preamble states 'hereunder written and annexed'.

 

 

Observations:

The documents include a Commission, in Latin, addressed to John Delahay, vicar of Clodock and William Allen curate of Michaelchurch Eskley to administer the Oath to Catherine Thomas because of her husband's intestacy. Together with the form of the oath and a certificate dated 28 July 1671 of the administration of the oath to Catherine Thomas.
The inventory includes oxen, cattle, horses, pigs, poultry and farming implements. Furnishings are described room by room including 'books and things in his study'.
