Title:

Probate Collection; Bond and documents for John Price, gentleman

Place name:

Michaelchurch Escley

Date:

1661

Description:

Documents :
1. Bond [incomplete and undated]
Bounden: Thomas Price of Michaelchurch Eskley, yeoman in the sum of £10.

2. Inventory: dated
21 March 1660/1 , value £4 7 8d. Appraisers James Probert, Thomas Maddockes, William Thomas and Lyson Beavan.

Observations:

The inventory whilst not of great value contains some interesting items. He had a sword and a belt. He also had with his wearing apparel a cloak bag was this for travelling? With his mare, bridle and saddle one must speculate that his gentlemanly status was conferred upon him because, having a sword, he had been an Officer in the army.
