Title:

Probate Collection; Bond and documents for Watkin Rowland

Place name:

Michaelchurch Escley

Date:

1661

Description:

Documents :
1. Bond dated
22 December 1661 .
Bounden: Katherine Watkine of Michaechurch Eskley, and Lewis Pries of Michaelchurch Eskley, in the sum of £100.

2. Inventory: dated
16 December 1661 , value £35 19 6d. Appraisers Edward Watkins, James Perry, Thomas David Madocks and John Parry

Observations:

There is a note in Latin on the inventory that administration was granted to 'Catherine Watkin widow and relict' on 23 December 1661 .
Inventory includes cattle, horses, sheep, poultry, 3 ac of corn growing on the premises, corn in the house threshed and un-threshed plus a list of debts due to the deceased.
There seems to be some confusion over the deceased's surname. Only the writer of the inventory calls him Watkin Rowland; both his wife and the surrogate who granted administration are clear that Watkin is the surname.
3 documents.
