Beneficiaries: To daughter, Elinor and son, Richard, £100 each.
To grandchildren, Elinor, Joan and Alice, daughters of his daughter Joan, £40 'to be sett out at best advantage' with their mother, Joan having the interest during her life.
To son in law,Thomas Jones, £5
To son, Robert, a dungwaine and a pair of harrows.
Twenty shillings, for bread to be distributed to the poor at his funeral.
To his wife, Elinor, his personal estate to be disposed of towards paying for the proving of his will.

Executrix: his wife, Elinor.

Signed by testator.

Witnesses: Charles Vaughan, Thomas Perrott and Job Gilbert.

24 June 1738 , value £56 6 0d. Appraisers Thomas Perrott, Walter Morgan and Samuel Powell.

 

 

Observations:

Documents include a renunciation of her appointment as executrix by Elinor Shaw and the request that the duty pass to son Robert together with a bond dated 12 June 1739 with bounden, Robert Shaw of Michaelchurch Eskley,gent and Thomas Perrott of Craswall, yeoman in a surety of £500 appointing Robert Shaw to administer the will of his father.
The inventory includes corn in the ground, horses, pigs and 'all linen cloth' and 'one piece of new cloth'.
