Description

1. Will dated 16 December 1654 .
Expresses a desire to be buried in the church at Michaelchurch Escley.
Beneficiaries:
To brother in law, William Prichard, £10 part of the £12 left to the testator in the will of Mary Williams, his late sister, and of which will William Prichard is one of the executors. The intent being that William Prichard shall pay several of the testator's debts which are listed in a codicil at the end.
To eldest son, William, 3 standing bedsteads, all table boards, forms and benches, 3 chairs, 'the greatest and best brass pann', the best cupboard in the house, 'all planks boards in the beast house forming a solar or tallet.' And a bay horse.
To cousin, Alice Eustance, 6 ewes.
To the two youngest children, Walter and Mary, all household stuff, corn and grain in the house and in the ground, goods, cattle and chattels not already bequeathed to be equally divided between them after funeral expenses have been paid. Father in law, Thomas Jennings to have responsibility for the 3 children, William, Walter and Mary and their inheritances during their minority.If father in law dies before they reach 21 the brother in law Thomas Jennings to take over guardianship.

Executors: the two children Walter and Mary. [Admon was granted to Thomas Jennings by the court].
