Description:

1. Will dated 18 March 1836:
Beneficiaries: To wife, Elizabeth, 'as long as she remains faithful to continuence, the farm stock, and all belonging to me' for her lifetime and then to son, John.
In addition the testator instructs executors to provide 8 pairs of gloves for his funeral and also gloves and crepe for his son.

Executor: Elias Pugh of Llancillo and John Price of Rowlestone

Witnesses: Lewis Jones & David Pugh.

Date of Probate: 19 April 1837.

Inventory: none but registration instruction states, 'Effects sworn under one hundred pounds'.

 

 

Observations:

Interesting to see that the old custom of supplying mourning gloves for a funeral was still being observed. Separate registration instruction and coversheet; 3 sheets in all.
