Description

1. Will dated 31 March 1616
Expresses a desire to be buried in the parish church at Rowlestone..
Beneficiaries:
To the Cathedral
church of St Davids , 6d.
To the Parson at Rowlestone, 6d for forgotten tithes.
To Harry Philipp, son, all the houses and land owned by the testator in Rowlestone and Llancillo which he bought from Thomas Phelipp Scudamore, Thomas Prese and John Watkin.
Also to son, Harry Philipp, all goods chattels and household stuff provided that wife Elizabeth is permitted free use and enjoyment of the house and land purchased from Thomas Phe Scudamore in Rowlestone, for her lifetime.
To wife, Elizabeth, 2 kine, the bedstead and bed with appurtenances, 'which I had with her at the intermarriage of us both', a brass pot, 4 sheep, 2 pewter dishes , one coffer, one salt cellar, one candlestick, one trind[?] and one pail, 10 bushels of hard corn and 10 bushels of oats to be delivered by the executor - 5 bushels of each immediately on the testator's death with the second 5 of each at the following harvest.
To son in law, Thomas John Thomas, a yoke of oxen currently held by him and 14 bushels of hard corn to be delivered between the testator's death and the next harvest.
To reputed daughter, Blanch, 20 marks [£13 6 8d] to be paid 3 years after the death of the testator. Also a flock bed with appurtenances.

Observations

As this is taken from a copy of the will deposited at the Prerogative Court of Canterbury there are no supporting documents.
