Manerium de Urishay alias Hayurry.

 

Curia visus Franci Plegii cum curia baronis Thome Delahay ar domini manerii predicti ibidem tena quinto die Octobris anno regni domini nostril Caroli secundi nunc Anglie etc. vicesimo tertio Annoque domin 1671 coram Waltero Phillpo senescallo ibidem.

 

[At?] the same court came Anne Symonds widow late wife of Jacob Symonds deceased of Trelishope and [b]rought into court [a cer]teyne writeing wherein is mencioned that the [       ] by his last will and testament bearing date the vj th day of March 1667 did give and deviseunto the said Anne during her widowhood his then dwelling house together with the garden one orchard and curtilage with the appurtenances in Trilleshope aforesaid (excepting the chamber where Elizabeth his sister did inhabit.

Item   Thomas Smith one of the jury aforesaid acknowledged to hold of the lord within the manor one messuage and certeyne lands meadowe and pasture with the appurtenances called Rede Monnten in Urishay aforesaid And one other messuage or tenement and certen lands meadowe & pasture called Oldhay heretofore purchased by Thomas ap Thomas of Thomas and Richard Delahay gent deceased by rent by yeare ijs viij d a coaple of capons and for the premises called Oldehay one herriott vizt. the second best beast after the death of every tenant And for the said messuage & premises called Rede Mounten five shillings in the name of a herriott after the death of every tenante.

Item   Thomas Prichard one of the jury aforesaid acknowledged to hopuld of the lord within this manor two messuages the one called Teere Croyne and the other called Bromyhake and certayne lands meadowe and pasture freehould heretofore purchased by Howell David John by rent by yeare vjs a coople of capons and two herriotts vizt. the two second best beasts after the death of every tenant.

Item   Thomas Parry one of the jury aforesaid acknowledged to hold of the lord of this manor one messuage or tenement and certeyne lands meadowe & pasture called Rede Mounten freehold heretofore purchased by Thomas William Parry deceased of Thomas and Richard Delahay gent. by rent by yeare xxd a coople of capons and five shillings in the name of a herriott after the death of every tenante.

Item   they present that James Gilbert in the right of Mary his wife daughter of Richard Powell deceased holdeth within this manor eight acres of arable land meadow & pasture more or lesse lately called Coome Croyne for the the sic. tearme of ninety nyne yeares by the demise of John Powell and Thomas Powell his sonne by lease dated the ix th day of October 1632 thereof made unto Richard Powell and Jane his wife nowe both deceased.

Item   John Watkins acknowledged to hould of the lord within this manor one messuage together with one parcel of land called Holdhay alias Oldhay within the fee of Urishay aforesaid by rent by yeare xxd suite of courte and a herriott vizt. the second best beast after the death of every tenant.

Item   Richard Griffith one of the jury aforesaid acknowledged to hold of the lordof this manor one meadowe called Gworlod Vayne and the third part of one messuage freehold late in the tenure of Anne Griffith his mother deceased by rent by year viijd suite of courte and coo ple of capons every second year and a herriott after the death of every tenante.

Item   Lyson Watkine one of the jury aforesaid acknowledged to hould that the lord one messuage or tenement and thirty acres of land pasture & wood lyeing in Trilleshope aforesaid called Gotterelle land and one parcel of meadowe called the Moore seven acres there called the Heldes and fower acres there called the oarles by rent by yeare vjs viijd a coople of capons and one herriott vizt. the second best beast after the death of every tenante heretofore purchased by Richard David of Thomas & Richard Delahay.

Item   Johan Watkine widdowe acknowledges to hold of the lord within this manor one parcel of land and the third parte of a messuage freehold parcel of the messuage and lands late of Howell WWatkine her father deceased by rent by yeare viijd a ccople of capons every second yeare suite of courte and a herriott after the death of every tenante.

Item   Perine James widdowe acknowledged to hould of the lord within this manor one messuage or tenement and cereyne lands meadowe and pasture called Shelleys land freehold by rent by yeare iijs two capons suite of courte and a herriott vizt. the second best beast after the death of every tenante.

Item    the said PerynJames acknowledged tohold of the lord within this manor the moyetye of one messuage of one fold, orchard and of severall parcels of land arable meadowe & pasture in Urishay and Newton within this manor heretofore purchased of Walter Delahay gent deceased by Thomas ap Thomas Willim by rent by yeare xxijd by deede dated the sixth day of Aprill in the xviijth  yeare of the raigne of Queene Elizabeth.

Item   David Madocks acknowledged to hold of the lord within this manor one cottage and two acres of land freehold parcel of the land of the said Thomas Prichard by rent by yeare vjd .

Alsoe the beforenamed Thomas Parry acknowledged o hould of the lord of this manor one cottage or tenement one meadowe thereunto adjoining and one other meadowe called Gworlod y Croyne three acres of land hereunto adjoyneing and fower acres called Randeroth freehold heretofore purchased by Thomas William Parry of Thomas Delahay & Richard Delahay gent. deceased by rent by yeare ijs ijd .

Item   they present that James Penoyre gent and Wm Penoyre his sonne doe hold of the lord within this manor one meadowe called Gworlod Newithe one other meadowe called Cae Glase freehould heretofore purchased by the said Thomas William Parry of Thomas Delahay, Richard Delahay & John Powell deceased but by what rents and services the said jury are ignorant.
