Description:  Bundle of deeds relating to The Vineyard Estate, Walterstone

Under the will of James Gilbert  of LLancillo Hall, 1815, his farms in Walterstone, known as Walerstone and Goytree farms passed to his great nephew, Thomas Price, who then assumed the name of Gilbert. The farms were later settled on the marriage of Mary Gilbert and John Prosser of Chepstow in 1855, and this settlement was followed by a series of mortgages from 1859 - 1873. Finally, in 1874, the two original farms and other lands making up the Vineyard Estate, were sold to James Gilbert Price.
