Description:
This set of sale particulars includes two lots: Lot 1 The Ton Farm, Clifford comprising 127 acres; Lot 2 The New House, Pensylvania and Tyn-y-gwynt, Michaelchurch Eskley comprising 118 acres.
Both were to be sold by auction by Edwards, Russell & Baldwin instructed by the Trustees of the late Mr Jonathan Howells, at the Crown Hotel, Hay on March 15th 1928.
The New House comprised a stone-built house and farm buildings with 60.26 acres let on a yearly Candlemas tenancy to Mr John Jones at £40.
Pensylvania comprised 23.363 acres let on a similar tenancy to Mr Henry Howard at £16.
Tyn-y-gwynt comprised 34.9 acres of in-hand land.
Observations:
Lot 2, New House, Pensylvania and Tyn-y-gwynt would appear not to have been sold as they remain in the ownership of the Howells family.
